European integration studies at Uni.lu: the Robert Schuman Institute of European Affairs
The Robert Schuman Institute of European Affairs (RSI) is the University of Luxembourg’s interdisciplinary research institute addressing questions of European law, politics, history and economics.
It was created in 2015 as a Jean-Monnet Centre of Excellence, supported by the European Union. Since then, a host of high-level research initiatives, publications, conferences and workshops have been organized with high-level participation.
The activities of the RSI have covered matters such as economic governance in the EU, citizenship, the consequences of Brexit, the consequences of Europe’s aging societies, the evolution of the banking Union and many others more.
Many University-internal and external fellows contribute to the work of the institute next to the six founding professors of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance and the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education (professors R. Harmsen, H. Hofmann, D. Howarth, A. Irmen, R. Leboutte, E. Neframi).
The RSI is planning a series of round-tables and conferences for 2018 which are certain to raise the interest of students, researchers, practitioners and members of the European and national institutions alike.
