Greenfield is currently working on an exclusive mandate on the search for a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) for one of the distinguished international law firms. As a PSL, you will be part of the Investment Funds department, advising and working closely with partners and senior lawyers. You will proactively bring added value by gathering and sharing knowledge and know-how. The role will be expected to deliver on a variety of activities, notably know-how management and training, legal watch, and participation in various working and lobbying groups. You will report to the Partners of the department and also liaise with the different people within the network in charge of Knowledge Management to maximise the use of the law firm’s global resources and share best practices. You need to have an excellent level of English, a sufficient experience in a law firm (ideally coming from the Fund/ banking/ finance department). Your role:
You will process new legislations, regulations, and guidelines, and process case law. You will organise resources (legislation, precedent, external), and you will assist with internal and external training. You will draft and maintain key document templates and coding the same for automation (where appropriate). You will work through matter-related issues with members of the Funds team, including discussing points of negotiation, drafting, and matter management.
You will attend various lobbying groups such as ALFI, ABBL, and LPEA. You will organize resources and contribute to initiatives (assist with memos and bill proposals). You will keep up to date with local and regional market and technical developments relevant to the private funds’ industry and develop and maintain local and regional know-how resources. You will collaborate with colleagues across the network to ensure the timely sharing of knowledge and best practice developments. You will as well be working closely with the Best Delivery Team to identify opportunities for process improvement, tailoring and implementing appropriate solutions, and conducting ongoing quality control. You will develop and support thought leadership initiatives and organise team training and inductions.
You will contribute to the drafting of publications where English needs to be on an excellent level, as well as prepare communication to clients to disseminate the law firm’s expertise and knowledge. You will assist with conferences, and contribute to the visibility and external profile of the department. You will coordinate internal and external deal announcements as well as produce lists of credentials for pitches and submission to legal directories.
You will support the group's legal education program, organise regular internal meetings and conferences to share practices and knowledge. Local and global initiatives – Project management relating to KM initiatives.
You will assist in the coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm and participate actively in any local and global initiative in terms of Knowledge Management.
Your profile:
Excellent academic background in law.
As of +/- 3 years of experience in a law firm as a lawyer/advisor related to Investment Funds ideally or related finance departments.
A great capacity for writing in English and already proven experience in writing publications or related.
A strong set of project management skills.
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and drive projects and initiatives until completion.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good analytical skills, enthusiastic, positive, and proactive attitude with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
Demonstrated service orientation, project management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail and meticulous follow-through.
Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all levels of seniority.
Excellent command of English. French is a great plus; German would be considered an asset.
Strong command of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience in using knowledge management tools and software will be considered a plus.
